What is My City Connected?
My City Connected is the Evolution of social networking as we know it today. When it comes to safety and security, small business marketing, online shopping, social sharing, and more… My City Connected is changing the game. 

USER BENEFITS AND ABILITIES (Regular & Business)

For the everyday (non-business) social networking user, My City Connected offers an experience unlike ANY other network available today. Let’s begin with the fact that the user has 100% control over their feed content. The user never receives what we call “forced advertisements” via their feed. The ONLY advertisement a user will see in their feed are posts from businesses they have “chosen” to follow. In addition, the user can sort their feed in multiple ways so that their feed only contains what they want to see. Users can choose to show “All Updates”, “Friends Only Updates”, Joined Networks, Show Recently Photos, Post, Music, Videos, and more. The user also has the ability to create custom feeds. For example, if a user has a specific friend whose posts they enjoy seeing, or a certain store, the user can create a “custom feed” just for that person or business.

There are two levels of membership available for the regular (non-business) user; FREE and VERIFIED.

***FREE*** User

All memberships start at this level. New members sign up using an invite code they receive from a local business. The new user MUST obtain an invite code to join the network. If the new member does not have an invite code from a local merchant, they can request one via email at support@mycityconnected.com.

Free members have access to all pages on the platform. However, to better protect ALL our members there are some limitations to what a Free member can do.

1. Free Members are limited to 10 friends.
2. Free Members can like, follow, and join Groups but cannot start or manage a group.
3. Free Members can like, follow, and shop in the Marketplace but cannot open or operate a store.
4. Free Members can shop in the Community Classifieds but cannot post items for sale.
5. Free Members receive credits for everything they do on the platform. However, they only receive half of what a “Verified” Member would receive.
In a nutshell, Free Members can participate in activities on the platform, shop, and socialize, but they cannot sell goods and/or services on the platform, manage others, or gather large groups of people as one would in a Group.

Free Membership is best suited for people who just want to shop, share, socialize, chill and enjoy the peace and serenity of a social network without all the “noise”.

***VERIFIED*** Non-Business Member

For the “Verified” (non-business) user there is a cost of $1 per month. This small fee opens the doors to “Opportunity”, and it also adds another level of security to your membership. In addition, the “Verified” member can enjoy the following benefits and opportunities:

1. Verified Members can have up to 100 friends. (If they wish to gather more people, a “Verified” Member can open a Group at no additional cost for 1 year. Once the year is over, the Group will be billed based on the number of followers it has. (Currently the cost is $49 per month for up to 5000 followers. Price is subject to change).
2. Verified Members can like, follow, join, start, and manage Groups.
3. Verified Members can like, follow, shop, and open a business in the Marketplace. However, Verified Members who chose to open a store on the platform must upgrade to a Business Membership. There is no additional charge for this upgrade for the first year. After the first year has passed, the store will be billed at $99 per month for up to 5000 followers. (Price is subject to change. Store owners can get a lower monthly price if the store owner sees value in their activities and wishes to start paying at the 6-month mark. At that point the store owner will have options for a reduced price.)
4. Verified Members can shop in the Community Classifieds AND post items for sale.
5. Verified Members receive credits for everything they do on the platform. Verified Members receive double the number of credits they received as a Free Member.

BUSINESS MEMBERS

Business Members start out like everyone else, except for when they fill out their profile information on signup they must choose Business Member instead of Community Member. The initial cost for Business Membership is the same as Verified Membership ($1 per month for 1 year). Business Members can enjoy the following benefits and opportunities:

1. Business Members can have up to 100 friends on their personal profile pages. (If they wish to gather more people, a “Business” Member can open a Group at no additional cost for 1 year. Once the year is over, the Group will be billed based on the number of followers it has. (Currently the cost is $49 per month for up to 5000 followers. Price is subject to change).
2. Business Members can like, follow, join, start, and manage Groups.
3. Business Members can like, follow, shop, and operate a business in the Marketplace. The cost of the store is $1 per month for the first year. After the first year has passed, the store will be billed at $99 per month for up to 5000 followers. (Price is subject to change. Store owners can get a lower monthly price if the store owner sees value in their activities and wishes to start paying at the 6-month mark. At that point the store owner will have options for a reduced price.)
4. Business Members can shop in the Community Classifieds but cannot post items for sale. (This privilege is reserved for Verified Members ONLY!)
5. Business Members DO NOT receive credits for the activities they perform on the platform. However, Business Members can obtain credits by offering discounts on their products and services in exchange for credits at an exchange value of 1 credit = $0.01. So, in a case where a store owner offers a discount of $5 in exchange for credits, the user must give up 500 credits to receive the discount. Business owners can then use these credits to purchase advertising on the platform in public spaces. (In this case, “public spaces” refers to areas on the website where people gather outside of their personal profile and main feed on the members home page). Examples would be advertising in the Marketplace, Groups, Videos, Events, The Gallery, etc.
